Related note - I am struggling to understand what the difference is between a “leaker" and “whistleblower.”
Maybe Denise Howell can chime in?

I had always understood that a “whistle-blower” is granted legal protections because they contacted a relevant regulatory body with their information, while a leaker is on their own because they release information to the public, or a non-regulatory org. I guess the AP sees differently.
